Camren put me onto this video a couple days ago and I am still thinking about it. It's soooooo bizarre that I don't actually know what or how to comment on it. The video concept alone is so creative and unique that even if you don't like ''rap'' you might just enjoy or be intrigued by the visuals.....or disturbed. On the flipside if you care about the lyrical aspect of ''rap'' you might think this guy is very dark and twisted, but definitely raps like no one else.

Overall....crazy unique video.

I often try to appreciate the moments as they are happening and I am learning to focus on the positive of what has happened, as opposed to focusing on what isn't happening anymore.

Learning is the keyword.

This Holiday Season I was able to spend a lot of time with the people that mean the most and it was unbelievable.

I'm Back - '' Took a break now i'm back, Bookmark...''

It's been approximately a year since I released a mixtape and I am happy with my progression up to this point. I am a gaining more and more confidence in the work that I am creating and I must admit....it feels good.

Cool Ya Off - '' I see the fame of the rest/but im'a stay focused on personal bests...''

As far as I have come with my music, I am not oblivious to how far I haven't gone. There are MANY local acts out there who have done what I have done and so much more....and that's good for them.

Lemons - '' I still doubt myself/ like is this really me?...''

I am positive there are some people looking at my music and wondering what the heck is going on? He's a rapper now?....trust me, I do it too. My confidence is growing, but it doesn't mean that Mr. Insecure is dead...he still lingers...

Remember the Rain - '' ...and people tend to judge/but on my window of oppurtunity you're a smudge...''

It's is impossible to please everyone and I have become more aware of that. I realize I have a window of oppurtunity right now, to make some music and have some fun....and I can't let anyone ruin that for me.

Do Work - '' I'ma chase it and stay so passionate/ cause I know that it's possible as long as I've imagined it...''

As cliche' as it sounds....it's true if you are realistic. I recall talking to Cam about this a couple years back, wondering if it was possible and what it would be like.....here we are.

An intimate party with most of my friends and family and the unveiling of what I feel is my first ''official'' solo mixtape. We made history.

A heads up...This post may be long, but if you really care to know a little bit of my motivation as to why I write songs/poems/music...here's a sample.
As you know, my all time favourite artist is the INFAMOUS Kanye West. This is a letter that was recently written to him from Russell Simmons.
(Russell Wendell Simmons is an American entrepreneur, the co-founder, with Rick Rubin, of the pioneering hip-hop label Def Jam, and creator of the clothing fashion lines Phat Farm, Argyleculture, and American Classics.) Basically A BIG DEAL in the HIP HOP culture.
It’s been a pretty hectic week for Kanye West. And yesterday, Russell Simmons retreated to his site and penned a letter in support for Mr. West. As always, Uncle Rush knows best.

Dear Kanye,

I have early recollections of Damon Dash calling me and forcing me to put you on Def Poetry Jam. I knew your record, “Through The Wire”, but I didn’t know much more. When you took the stage on Def Poetry Jam that night, and spit those genuine, heartfelt words, I witnessed your specialness that Damon had emphatically told me about.

From that moment on, you became a poet who has inspired the poets. I have proudly watched your career since then, and in case someone has missed the obvious, you are making a historical impact on music. Your life story took a tough turn with the passing of your mother. Although we grieved with you, we never really knew how much pain you were in. We witnessed your moment at the MTV Music Awards and many of us dismissed it as, “oh that is just Kanye being Kanye.” The hard part of all of this, is that we have all had moments in our lives that have been challenging, painful and hard to overcome, however most of us just hide our emotions and never deal with that inner-struggle that we face on a daily basis. If you are still with me....this is one of the reasons Kanye inspires me so much. He speaks from the heart and is able to convey his true emotions through his poetry. I admire this ability and am constantly working to get better at doing the same. Lyrically I feel that I have always stayed genuine, but the conveying of the emotion is what I am trying to master.

I have no idea how this next mixtape will be received, but I can honestly say it doesn't matter.

My friend said to me a couple months back, “I’m scared for your next mixtape, I feel like people like the old stuff so much, you might not be able to top that." My response was, “That’s ok, I like my new stuff better, haha." One of my initial goals in this whole experience was to tell a story of progression....could I become better than I was when I started? If so, How much better?

Due to the videos and Facebook marketing that I've been doing, a couple people have asked me if I'm trying to get signed....the answer is...no. In terms of how far do I want to take this? It’s still undetermined, but the one thing I know for sure is that I am falling in love with the challenge of documenting my every experience and emotion through the use of poetry.

I used to be into martial arts and old Kung Fu movies when I was a youngster...I guess you could say that's the inspiration behind the title...

Some of you are probably wondering why there isn't a hook and three verses etc etc....This is simply because I chose to have a little more fun with this mixtape and keep it true to '' my understanding'' of what a mixtape is supposed to be.

The REAL artists usually have a bunch of remixes as well as some songs that they just rap to...hence, I did that a little bit as well.

Sometimes, it's more fun to just rap...not worry about structure, hooks, chorus, verse, bridge etc....I just wanted to rap.

Congrats to Cam and E for producing an ENTIRELY different video, while maintaining our '' Saint Kris '' feel.

If you are a fan of Kanye West you will love this video. I've been reading and following all of his latest concepts/theories/outlooks on his music, life, etc etc.....

I am not going to get into a debate on why he's a creative genius because by now you either love him or hate....you're either going to agree or say he's an idiot for the Taylor swift thing yadda yadda

For those who are fans, this mini movie puts him on an artistic level that exceeds being a '' rapper''

It's all about challenges and progression....would I be able to perform without a beat? ....sometimes I think the beat can help comfort an artist in the sense that he can hide behind it....if people aren't listening to your words, they are at least listening to the beat....so what happens when there is no beat?....all that is left is your voice, and it can be somewhat intimidating....or empowering.

Everyone has their hometown court....'' The Cage, The Zoo, The Concrete Jungle, The Lions Den, etc etc, '' Kenora's court was known as '' The Recker '' for a few summers. It was obviously named after the Legendary NYC playground called '' Rucker Park'' simply because this court let us feel like we were just as good as some of those Legends. I might as well....

So here are my questions.....

Lebron chooses to go to Miami to share the spotlight with Wade and Bosh and hopefully win that NBA Championship.....people hate him for doing that, why?

Is it cause he's teaming up with possibly 2 future hall of famers? is it cause he's looking to share the spotlight? is it cause he's playing for less money in Miami? is it cause he gave a solid 7 years of service to the Cavs and left when he was ALLOWED to leave (no trade demands that I can remember)?

I thought we hated when athletes made decisions based on making more money and having their own spotlight?

I understand that the Lebron Special Show was a little much, but at the same time, didn't we all watch it? didn't all the proceeds go to the little kids club? was it not entertaining?

Don't get me wrong, I love how it used to be when superstars stuck it out with their own team a la Michael King of all Kings, Never Be Touched, No matter who wins what and when Jordan.....but does that mean we rag on guys who sign with different teams when their contract is over?

Same thing may happen to Bosh when he goes back to T.O. which would be just plain stupid. It's ok to wish players stayed with your city....and to be upset when they leave.....BUT don't have to be straight up idiotic about it. Burning Jersey's,,,,,Owners making ridiculous claims....Cavs aint winning shizzzz before nobody!

I think sometimes, we are weird when forming our opinions, but that's just my opinion.

The title of the song couldn't be more fitting. Who Dat is one of J. Cole's newest songs and it is exactly what I've been wanting from him....raw, rugged.....punchline, metaphor and all that good stuff that I love about hip hop. He's definitely competing for the top spot in my hip hop mind...(underneath Kanye, but just in line with Drake....a little above Big Sean).

Who Dat is exactly what most people will say when you mention J. Cole cause he's not really that radio friendly artist, but it doesn't really matter to him which is pretty cool. You can honestly tell that he's making music for the love of it, cause I am yet to hear him force any radio type songs.....

It's such a vicious circle......in order to get the highest possible fame, you have to go on to radio and get your stuff played 24/7, yet....you sometimes have to sacrifice your truest sound and people don't always like that....

Well,

It's official....I'm missing her first Bday party....Baby Kya....aka baby Krya is turning one on this very day....and I am not there....there as in Guelph. I wish for one minute she could read, so that she would know that I love her very much and can't wait to give her some belated birthday hugs and kisses once I arrive....in the near future. It's quite a feeling.....I mean, I play, look after and have a lot of dealings with kids due to work and genuine big heartedness....but when you become the Ninong....it really gives you a sense of....hm...I don't know how to describe it, but it's pretty special. The lovely thing about music is that the lyrics can mean whatever you want them to mean. Music is full of poetic devices that allow for secret messages and ambigiuity. If you add Slang into the mixture the meanings can be even more skewed....

Take the song Rude Boy by Rihanna.....'' Come on Rude boy boy boy are you big enough?.....etc etc....'' if you know the lyrics you know that it's crazy that it's played on the radio so freely.

So now I stumble upon this song by Ciara....Ride......she basically explains that she can '' ride the beat...'' ...hmmm.....That's cool....as a self proclaimed rapper, i'd like to think I can ride the beat too.....

BUT, when I watched the video....I realized....I definitely don't ride the beat like she does....

I won't post the video because of the thousands of children who read my blog, so if you really want to see it look it up.

Well....On wednesday April 14th I attended the Providence Freemen athletic banquet for the first time....as a guest. My lady friend Ms. Christine Parker was the Assistant Coach for the Women's Volleyball team and invited me to be her date...(Thanks for the meal) It was a great banquet and congrats to all the winners and the school itself for another successful year.

Now that I said what is kind of a mandatory statement...on to the real deal.

First of all....It is actually quite amazing to see how far Prov has come since I attended my first athletic banquet back in that day.....it used to be held in a crowded cafeteria....nowadays, it's still in a cafeteria, but a cafeteria on steroids with jumbo screens, music and awesome videos ( What up Killa!)..let's not forget the new gym and exercise facility..(Scott....Patti.....amazing)

Secondly....I want to give a huge congrats to the man, Camren Friesen....2010 Mens Basketball MVP. Well deserved. I remember his first tryout/practise scrimmage at Prov. We were luckily put on the same team and we seemed to have pretty good chemistry. I would drive and dish and to my amazement he caught Everything!....and to top it all off....he finished everything too!!!....What a pleasent surprise. After that practise Coach Mitch and I knew he was going to be crazy....we didn't know he'd end up being '' Psycho C'' ( named after Pyscho T...Tyler Hansborough ) UNC Dante obviously gave him this short lived nickname...Cam remained crazy good...just the nickname wasn't the coolest....haha. I won't bore anyone with stories of him literally killing guys in practise, over and over and over and over....Congrats dude.

Lastly.....A shout out to my girl. Christinis Parkeris (big smile, far right, their left).....she was a Phenomenal player for the Women's team....and then added a few years of Assistant Coaching on top of it. Now, I am a person who thinks the words Thank you are very important, and I think some people Sh!t that bed on giving her some Thank you's. She coached for free for about 3 years...(thank you)...the only reason she is unable to return for the up-coming season?... she is becoming a Registered Dietician ( very intense work with little flexibility for anything other than work).....so she had to retire from her coaching duties.......no mention of that at the banquet....hmm....? She gave the nutrition talks for every single team...hmmm.....no mention?.......She gave the year end speech for the team at the banquet.....no thank you?......Now I'm not talking about the general '' We'd like to thank all the coaches for the year....blah blah blah....'' That's great for coaches who will be returning, BUT...From my experience when a coach does their time and puts years of work into Prov Athletics and has decided to move on, they get a special mention and some goodies.....cough, Coach Mitch cough Coach Natalie cough cough cough cough....

I am not attempting to offend anyone, I am just stating facts....AND I understand that people are busy and can forget.....but is everybody busy? not one person remembered?

Well...for what it's worth...Thank you Christine Parker for your countless amount of hours put into a program that you love, and put into teaching the game that you love.

Fly Rice....Am I Filipino yet?

Fly Rice is the team name....PSBL was the newest Filipino Basketball League....We came, we saw, we conquered.

I made my return to the Filipino Basketball community by joining a team called, '' Fly Rice. '' Let me take you on a quick run through of the Championship season.

Jason Au (CEO of The Masses clothing line) brought me in for a workout with the Fly Rice team owner, Jerry Legaspi. Fortunately, I was Filipino enough (50%) and skilled enough to make the team, and that's how the adventure began.

Before the first game played out, we had the opening ceremonies where our team really showed its true colors, so to speak. As you can see in the team picture above, not all of us were filipino....we were allowed two imports (non flip) and apparently two chinese as well...

I never officially heard any complaints, but I felt a weird sense that we were not exactly fan favorites. Could have been just my low self-esteem...

Anyways, we won our first game by 20-40 points and then LOST our second game to a team of All-Stars. However, we only lost by 7, so we obviously felt like we had a chance if we ever met this team again....playoffs. The remainder of the regular season was a success as we enjoyed the company of one another, while accumlating more points then every other team we played against. Sometimes I think we might have accumulated enough points in one game to win our next two games....

I missed a few games, due to medical concerns but thankfully made it back in time for the finals....finals...finals....and who do we face? The only team in the league that was able to send us home crying and weeping. We had revenge on our minds, and love in our hearts?

A back and forth battle...up five, down two, plus one, divided by two....see saw see saw, final minutes and freethrows....We win, we win!....Fly Rice upsets the number one team in the league (we won by about 5 points) and goes on to take the first ever PSBL Championship.

Shout out to my teammates, much love to you guys....shout out to Mr. Jerry L without you none of this would have been possible.....Jason Au, thanks for giving me the chance.....Mom, thanks for being Flip.....Dad, thanks for choosing mom....all is good.

Quick story-

Last night I while I was having a few beverages with two of my dearest, I decided to run through some old music videos on youtube. My selection was pretty random, but then I choose one song by Mr.West and then another, and another and it just kept going. I ran across an old song that I semi forgot about, Goodnight by West and Mos def. It has a nice calming beat and what I really love are the lyrics. Sometimes Artists are able to put together a string of words that grab a hold of your heart and caress that son of B for the duration of the song. I guess since I've been making music, I think about these things when I write ya know? Some songs are just jokes, some are secret messages, some are explanations, etc etc, but I think it's amazing when an artist can write a song that makes you think that he's talking about you, your situation, what you're going through or what you've gone through. Good ol' Mr. West.

Perspective....it’s a viewpoint, a standpoint, a point of view or an angle.....sometimes the perspective of Mobb doesn’t correlate with the perspective of the referees. Sometimes we feel or see that we are getting fouled, but the referees don’t feel or see it the same way. In the end, it’s all perspective....no one is right or wrong....it’s just perspective. HA!

Well,

The on-going saga of my basketball life,,,,Officials. I don't know what to think of them. Don't get me wrong their are some good ones, and I do realize they are human and they will miss calls....I get that. But shit.....sometimes, it's kind of ridiculous. I won't dive too far into this because I could go on for days, but remember this before you call me a sucky baby who just wants all the calls.....I'm winning and still complaining about fouls, I've gotten to the line a billion times in my career,and i'm complaining about fouls..... what I mean is that this isn't a " If we would have got more calls, we could have won '' type of argument. This is a " Some of these refs don't actually care or are not trained properly in their profession'' type of argument.

Bonjour,

As some of you may know or remember I have recently decided to take a trip down musical lane and this past weekend I released my first solo mixtape, titled Saint Kristoffer (simple, yet satisfying). It featured only a few artists such as C-Flow, Nikki Saint ( my sister) and Jay Mizz ( my cousin).

I was part of the Kenora Christmas Showcase which featured several other bands/artists and the show went great. I had a sweet group of friends come down from Winnipeg to help build me up as I broke it down on stage. They definitely appreciated every song that Since Day One Entertainment ( The group/team/fam I run with) but once the song "Party Party" came on......they went absolutely bananas. I think they performed louder than I did, as well as knew the words better than I did. Much love to the fellas who came down.

And obviously much love to my number one, Beans.( I am not sure what's wrong with my eyes in this picture...I think that's my tough, calm, smile but don't smile look)

And just as I am throwing my thank you's out there, I have to give much thanks and appreciation to C Mack and Mr. Mizz for enduring a 9 hour "studio" session of editing my work, and making it sound as clear and clean as possible.

As most of you already know, I have ventured into a new scene...the music scene. It all started many years ago when my sister,cousins and I would download instrumentals and make our own songs for fun. We all continued to do it, but my sister and cousin started to perform while i stayed with just writing. Oh how the times have changed...I went from keeping it a secret to performing on stage with my fam. Believe it or not, I performed in Kenora on Oct 23rd with the crew and I am not going to lie,,,,it felt amazing. I mean i've played ball infront of big crowds and stuff before, but this was a totally different type of adrenaline. I've neglected to post and vids becauce I feel they don't really do any justice to how the show felt, and the atmosphere of it all....but here is the link to the music. I woke up early Sunday morning and when I clicked onto my homepage, The Yahoo website, I saw a picture of the GOAT Michael Jordan crying and it had some silly caption like.."Jordan’s night to remember turns petty" I obviously had to read up on this...I felt a sense of rage as I read this review of the Jordan Hall of Fame speech. This idiot writer was just bashing and trashing MJ on what he said, how he said it, etc....So I obviously went to the YouTube clips of the Hall of Fame induction and what did I find? Nothing but greatness. MJ did it in classic MJ form, and once again proved his haters wrong. Basically....the Yahoo sports writer was a complete ignoramus ( I don't know exactly what that word means, but you get the point) and Congrats to Michael on his Induction.

To anyone who has noticed, I haven't put up any new content for a few days now. I apologize, but I've been busy whooping people's asses at the Toronto Hoop It Up. Shane, Graham and I might have gone undefeated...Graham and I might have set the record with the highest "2-Ball" score EVER!!!!...I'm not sure. I think Shane might have video footage of it, but I don't know if Hoop It Up is going to allow us to release it. We also might have seen some guy named DeRozen, as well as some other Bosh guy, I'm not sure, I don't follow Raptor games that closely. Anyways, Hoop It Up has come and gone so in loving memory of HIU here is an Oldie, but a Goldie.

Ok...so Mr. Drake has been getting A LOT of buzz...and I think its well deserved, he's ridiculous right now....BUT...I think there is another artist, who is real G.O.O.D and deserves a little bit of hype as well. I will warn you though, his stuff is not for the lyrically weak, he's a beast, metaphorically....I mean, his metaphors are crazy...so he's a beast....ah, you know what I mean...Big Sean.
